My greatest desire is the encounter with the unknown, with the anonymous, with that which is distant or is secret. To reach such encounters I propose public announcements through which I seek individuals who wish to set forth their own stories and experiences.

My intention is to use a variety of artistic media to provoke reflections on the ethical and aesthetic structures of normativity, the models in which we were created, our contemporary Western culture and the limits imposed on us throughout history. My projects are grounded in a profound exchange between myself, artist, and the common individual, their desires and vulnerabilities.

Essays on Intimacy is the result of an intensive research on the intimacy of the Portuguese individual, begun in 2015, whose experiences became the basis for poetic-visual creations. The primary stimulus for the research was the search for constructions of a relationship of affection and intimacy with the Portuguese community. The difficulty of creating these links became a reflexive material, starting point for the artistic production presented here. Conservatism, physical detachment and sociocultural conflicts become poetic material for the development of a multidisciplinary work consisting of unique pieces (sculptures, objects, video, textiles), photographic series and installations.
